I was reminded this week of my
gratitude for a loving
Heavenly Father, a
Father that has a plan for us during this life and the next. I feel extremely blessed to know that families are forever. After attending a funeral service for a
wife and mother of 7 children, I thought of my own parents and how much I love them and their testimony of the gospel.
So much of what was said about this good and faithful sister in the gospel is true of my parents. Gratitude. One thing that stood out at the service was how they could imagine that Spirits were lined up around the block to be one of the children born into that wonderful family.
I feel the same way about my own family. I am
grateful for the time my parents spent teaching us, taking us to church, making us pray together and read scriptures as a family, even if sometimes, we did it with a grumble. The testimony of my parents was
strong and immovable, they knew how it important it was for us to have a personal relationship with our
Savior and
our
Father in Heaven and they did all in their power to give us opportunities to
love, serve, and grow. Because of them and their faithful parenting, I was raised in the gospel and have a
testimony of our
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I was born of
goodly (and Godly, for that matter) parents. I know that through our
Savior, we are able to be sealed to our
families for
time and all eternity, and if we live righteously, we will be able to see our loved ones that have gone beyond the veil. I say this in the name of
Jesus Christ, Amen.
