My Little Pumpkins

I love fall. I love the crispness in the air. I love how I don't immediately start sweating when I walk outside...in reality, its the only season I go outside. Fall is a beautiful season.

Steven and I were able to take the boys to the pumpkin patch. Landon loved pulling the wagon all around the field of orange. Kaison loved teething on all the gorgeous pumpkins. We picked out one large pumpkin for cooking and 2 baby pumpkins for our little snuggle bunnies.

For Family Home Evening tonight, we used our Nursery Manual to teach Landon about Heavenly Father and his plan for us. It is difficult to get him to focus for long, but he enjoys singing 'I am a Child of God'. He sings so beautifully and he loves to sing songs about the gospel. Recently, he has been walking around the house singing 'I Love to See the Temple'. It brings joy to my heart when I hear his angelic voice sing beautiful songs. What a sweet spirit.

After we did our lesson, we took our pumpkin and dissected it. Landon was excited to see the inside of a pumpkin. He carefully pulled out the strings and made the funniest faces. Landon was grossed out by the texture. We carefully picked out all the seeds and Steven put the pumpkin in the oven.  Steven wants to make pumpkin cheesecake. DELICIOUS!!! I can't wait for him to make this pumpkin treat.

Eternal Families

I was reminded this week of my gratitude for a loving Heavenly Father, a Father that has a plan for us during this life and the next. I feel extremely blessed to know that families are forever. After attending a funeral service for a wife and mother of 7 children, I thought of my own parents and how much I love them and their testimony of the gospel. So much of what was said about this good and faithful sister in the gospel is true of my parents. Gratitude. One thing that stood out at the service was how they could imagine that Spirits were lined up around the block to be one of the children born into that wonderful family. I feel the same way about my own family. I am grateful for the time my parents spent teaching us, taking us to church, making us pray together and read scriptures as a family, even if sometimes, we did it with a grumble. The testimony of my parents was strong and immovable, they knew how it important it was for us to have a personal relationship with our Savior and our Father in Heaven and they did all in their power to give us opportunities to love, serve, and grow. Because of them and their faithful parenting, I was raised in the gospel and have a testimony of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I was born of goodly (and Godly, for that matter) parents. I know that through our Savior, we are able to be sealed to our families for time and all eternity, and if we live righteously, we will be able to see our loved ones that have gone beyond the veil. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

My 1st Post

I have never done this before. I've read blogs in the past and have always thought how fun it would be to share my thoughts and views with the world. My current goal is to do one blog each week. My schedule doesn't allow for much else. I am a mommy, a wife, and a FLVS teacher on-call for 150 students everyday. There always seems to be something that needs to be done. But journaling is important. I am reminded of it everytime I look at the faces of my sweet babies. So let the journey begin...

I will start by saying that I love my husband. Last night we had Family Home Evening and I was gently reminded by the Spirit of how much we need each other. We haven't had alot of quiet time together lately... infact, we haven't had any and it was taking a toll on me. I started my job at the WORST time - summer! There have been times I have had to put down the phone and say NO MORE and just walk away and let it ringOn the bright side, I am getting the hang of my new schedule and am able to organize my work in a way that is productive and allows me to spend time with my FAMILY.

Times are tough financially, $$ is super tight. We are making cuts that I never thought we'd have to. Team Epperson will find a way. We are survivors. We are determined to keep a positive outlook. The CEO of my company said 'The hardest thing you go through can turn into the best thing'. We have faith that if we work together as a team, our family will be provided the things we NEED and that we will be happy. Sometimes less is more.
